Trauma, be it physical, emotional or psychic, may be stored only to resurface, sometimes years later, as a pain, an anxiety, a behaviour or any number of problems created by the body’s method of compensation. Our goal is to teach participants to ’see’ differently, to think outside the box and to affect profound change through a global hands-on approach.

The substance of this course covers all aspects of trauma and injury, how they differ and their effect on the body/mind/spirit continuum. Using systemic evaluation, observation, listening, gait/movement analysis and dynamic anatomy, participants will learn multiple techniques to restore patients’ homeostasis. When these series of techniques are used in concert, they effect a profound change in the whole body. They are useful in treating back pain, generalized stiffness, numerous sequellae of MVA’s, head injuries and correcting postural problems to name a few. It is a “go to” solution when a new approach is required.. Individually they are each useful additions to any treatment eg shin splints, runners knee, TMJ problems, breathing problems, back pain, S.I joint pain and more.

EACH DAY BEGINS WITH DISCUSSIONS:

  • TRAUMA and INJURY:
    • Trauma vs. injury.
    • Types of trauma: physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual
    • Effects of trauma on: body, Self, family, community
    • Vectors of force and their ramifications
  • IMPEDIMEMTS TO MOVEMENT:

    • Myofascial chains especially relating to the core
    • Nerve compression and entrapment
    • Factors contributing to pain and/or dysfunction
